RONAD The program broadened my scope in the understanding and appreciation of the global Terxtile and appparel sector. More to this, it helped me understand the changing trends in Textile Research, innovations and China’s continued influence in the global Textile and apparel industry. Lectures by Prof. Xiao Lan on Chinese local Textile &Clothing Entreprise’s innovation growth showed how South Asia and Africa are the future Industrial Hubs for Chinese owned textile Industries because of cheaper labor, as the majority of the Chinese Population demand for higer wages owing to improved living standards and high end consumers, and also to access cheaper industrial raw materials especially from Africa. To a larger extent, the seminar met my expecations in areas of new research on new textile materials, non woven textiles and the changing trends in the Textile and Apparel sector. Donghua University is aleading and world class training university, and more so, in the Textile Industry and has trained a lot of international participants that are greatly contributing to the Textile academia and Industry. Going forward, I suggest that the University delibarately sets her footprint with other Universities and Research institutions in the Belt and Road initiative through building research collaborations, beyod the seminars and trainings. Through this, Donghua University will continue to distinguish herself as a leading player in supporting R&D functions of the participating institutions. Also, building a network of participants will continue to spur the knowledge sharing and build credible professionals across the Belt and Road Initiative countries, that stay connected through a delibarate effort. These are the key ambassadors of the University and her training programs and will make the 2024 cohort more connected and build more impact.
VERONICA Attending this textile industry teaching program has offered me a wide range of valuable benefits. I think there are many benefits that I have gained from this program. Here are some key gains that I have benefited from this program: 1. In-depth understanding of textile industry knowledge such as production process and market trends in China, also we had sharing of market trends according to each participants countries. 2. Technical Expertise: I have learned technical theories in various aspects of textile manufacturing, such as spinning, weaving, dyeing, and finishing. 3. Understanding sustainable practices in the textile industry, we had brief class on how some fashion industries use Laser surface treatments. 4. Market Insight and Trends: we had a lecture of Case studies on Chinese local textile and Clothing Enterprise’s innovative growth, informed us about Chinese current market trends in textile and fashion , consumer preferences, and modern marketing and sales the textile and fashion industries like Online store, online advertisements. We also shared information on market insight and products based on different participants countries 5. Career Advancement: this program has enhance my career prospects by acquiring knowledge and that are in demand within the textile industry. 6. Innovation and Technology Integration: I have learned innovative technologies and their applications in the textile sector such as non-woven technology and smart textiles. 7. Continuous Learning and Adaptability: This program has boost my mindset of continuous learning, staying adaptable to evolving industry dynamics and embracing lifelong professional development. The mentioned gains above are specifically target in textile industry,in addition to that we also had Chinese language class, and Chinese culture classes such as cuisines and traditional clothes. From this I have an insight and understating of Chinese history culture. Appreciation on the cultural and historical significance of textiles, such as earliest mechanical nonwoven ancient china like animal hair+ Urine/Milk ,though we learned this from nonwoven classes but it is part of understanding how traditions and heritage influence design and production. In summary what I expected to gain from this program is exactly what I have gained and more.
ASADUZZAMAN In the seminar, I get lots of talents, experts, and industry professionals as my classmates. I was surprised to find lecturers and professors from several nations among the participants. It was an incredible experience for me as a textile student. Aside from teachers, I also learned from my classmates. This, in my opinion, is the best section of the seminar. I have no words to express the professor's excellence and patience while teaching us during the seminar. Giving a long speech or lecture is really difficult. I become bored from time to time, but the lecturers never do. Throughout the seminar, they patiently instructed us. I expected to see a great number of professors from all over the world, but the majority of them were from China. I got a clear idea of the Chinese textile industry and some popular brands in China from the case studies of Chinese local textile and clothing enterprises’ innovative growth. A session on Chinese characters and calligraphy, Chinese cuisine and traditional festivals, and Chinese traditional clothing was held. This is a tradition in Chinese culture. This portion taught me a lot about the Chinese language, food habits of China, top eight cuisine of China and Chinese traditional costume. I've always been fascinated by China and Chinese culture. This session was both enjoyable and educational for me.
BISMARK I got to know about this opportunity to join BR-TIIC program organized by Donghua university from a friend in China. I am an individual with deep passion for textiles, especially, the science and technology aspect. As a results, I do find myself in the school of Textiles and Clothing, Anhui Polytechnic University, as a postdoctoral fellow. With the knowledge that Donghua University provide quality knowledge regarding textiles, I was fascinated to join the BR-TIIC program to sharpen my knowledge in textiles. Initially, I thought it might be a showoff program but the application process nullified the thought I had, making me think that the program has a critically and solid purpose; not just a platform to engage foreigners, but to expand our knowledge in textiles and fashion. Courses such as non-woven technology, functional textiles, among others, learnt during my first-degree education have been well-sharpened. I was also exposed to other information about the Apparel, home furnishing, and sportwear companies in Ghana and others outside China who originated from China. The program served as an enlightenment for me concerning the past and transitional development and changes that have happened over time with regards to raw materials and technology used in the production of textiles and fashion trend in China.
PAMELA I have learnt about the various companies and their brands in the the textile and clothing industry that have diversified into production of other products other than textiles and clothing and also grown in multi billion dollar companies and have spread to various countries worldwide. I virtually visited Textile and costume industry, Shanghai museum, morning exercise in the park, of which exercise is an important thing to do for the body, soul, mind and heart. Travel appointment in China, Checking-in, how to order a meal, etc. I have improved my chinese language, Chinese language is an interesting to learn and is becoming one of those international languages replacing English, French, Spanish and many other more languages. Ibelieve I will be the ambassador of China to my country. This can be done by telling my China strory, writing essays. In my country we always have a writing competition for “MY CHINA STORY” organised by the China Embassy in Kampala-Uganda.
